The Iowa softball team will continue its early season tournament slate with a trip to Tuscaloosa, Ala., this weekend for a date with defending national champion Alabama.
The Hawkeyes will get two games with the top-ranked Crimson Tide this weekend as part of a five-game set in the Bama Bash. This will be the third-straight tournament in the early portion of Iowa’s season.
Iowa’s record after the first two tournaments sits at 7-3. The Hawks opened 3-2 between Feb. 8-10 in the Hilton Houston Plaza Classic before winning the Lovelace Invitational with a 4-1 record the next weekend.
The Black and Gold will be paired with Winthrop at 1:30 p.m. today before their first game with the Crimson Tide at 6 p.m. today. Iowa will play the same two teams on Saturday and in the same order.
The Hawkeyes and Eagles will meet again at 11 a.m. on Saturday. Their second game with Alabama begins at 1:30. Iowa will conclude their trip to Tuscaloosa with a game against Western Illinois on Feb. 24 beginning at 11 a.m.
All times are CST, and all games will be held at Alabama’s Rhoads Stadium in Tuscaloosa.
