A local woman was arrested after allegedly walking out of Von Maur with merchandise that added up to approximately $1,662 without paying it.
Darcie Hutzell, 37, was accused Feb. 8 with second-degree theft.
Hutzell was reportedly observed by an employee of the Von Maur loss-prevention department, as she walked around the store. She allegedly concealed jewelry in her coat and selected handbags, the police complaint said. She then reportedly left the store without paying for any of the merchandise.
She was stopped outside the store and allegedly found in possession of two purses and 36 pieces of jewelry that valued up to $1,662.
Second-degree theft is a Class-D felony.
