A North Liberty man has been accused of attempting to strangle his significant other.

According to a North Liberty police complaint, David Thompson Jr., 30, was charged with two counts of impeding breathing or circulation Nov. 8 after allegedly choking the victim with whom he had had an intimate relationship with for around one month.

Thompson Jr. choked the victim around her neck with his left hand while he and the victim were arguing, the complaint said.

Impeding breathing or circulation is a Class-D felony.
