An Iowa City man has been accused of stealing $575.

Terrance Fields, 42, address unknown, was charged July 2 with third-degree theft.

According to a Johnson County Sheriff’s Office complaint, Fields stole $575 from a victim and agreed to use the money to rent both the victim and himself an apartment.

Fields never rented the apartment and has not returned the money, the complaint said.

Third-degree theft is an aggravated misdemeanor.
