An Iowa inmate died in the prison hospice program Monday.
According to an Iowa Department of Corrections news release, Robert Dicks, a 71-year-old man assigned to the Iowa Medical & Classification Center, died of natural causes due to pancreatic cancer.
Dicks was serving a 115-year sentence for eight felony offenses, including three charges of second-degree sexual abuse, one charge of third-degree sexual abuse, and one charge of sexual exploitation of a minor. All convictions were from Mahaska County, the release said.
According to the release, the sentence began on March 19, 1990.
