Trevor Hall, who played at the venue last year, will return to the Mill, 120 E. Burlington St., at 8 p.m. today to play from his new album, Everything, Everytime, Everywhere. Admission is $12 in advance and $15 at the door.

Hall took a raw approach with the new album — he wanted his fans to feel as if they were in the studio during the recording. The album tells a story from beginning to end, unlike his previous records, which consisted of a variety of different songs.

Hall said he experienced many struggles and obstacles while making this record, which made him focus more on the honesty of the music. While touring with this album, he said, he’s had to learn to balance his new and old material.

"I think that people are still learning about the record and still getting into it," he said. "But you want to evolve and move forward as an artist."

Hall said he is looking forward to his second time in Iowa City and hopes that the show will have a good turnout. This time, he plans on playing all of his new material to see how the fans react.

"I feel lucky to have people coming out to view us," he said. "It feels good to have people show their support."
