Iowa senior wide receiver Derrell Johnson-Koulianos addressed a Facebook status update to "Hawkeyenation" late Monday night, presumably regarding his arrest on Dec. 7 on seven drug-related charges.
"Hawkeyenation, I love you and can’t thank you enough for your love and support. You created DJK and I will at some point, when circumstances allow, express my sincere gratitude for the opportunity this institution has given me. Godspeed & God bless," he wrote.
Head coach Kirk Ferentz issued a statement last week saying Johnson-Koulianos is suspended from all team activities.
"He will not play again here," Ferentz said in a teleconference on Dec. 9.
Johnson-Koulianos is Iowa’s all-time leader in career receptions and career receiving yards. The Campbell, Ohio, native recorded 46 receptions for 745 yards and 10 touchdowns this season and added an 88-yard kickoff return for a touchdown against Minnesota on Nov. 27.
