Two very different, yet dynamic bands will bring their music to Iowa City Friday.
David Zollo and the Body Electric plus Shannon McNally and the Hot Sauce will perform at 7 p.m. in the Yacht Club, 13 S. Linn St.. Admission is $7.
Zollo is an Iowa City native who was originally part of the band High and Lonesome. After taking time off because of an illness, he brought his Midwestern indie music back to the world with his new band, the Body Electric.
He has been known as an "exuberant, passionate performer" who people should go to see if they get the chance, because he has an incredible voice.
In addition to Zollo and the Body Electric, Shannon McNally will also play with her band, the Hot Sauce.
McNally’s more recent album, Western Ballad, will be released on Jan. 23, 2011. She cowrote the songs on the album with producer Mark Bingham.
McNally describes the music on her album as "psychedelic Americana." After the performance at the Yacht Club, McNally will continue to tour with her band.
