Iowa senior Adrian Clayborn was announced Tuesday as one of six finalists for the 2010 Ted Hendricks Defensive End of the Year Award.
The St. Louis native — who has started 29-straight games for Iowa — recorded 51 tackles this season — seven for losses totaling 42 yards. He also added three-and-a-half sacks and forced one fumble.
Clayborn was named an All-American by the American Football Coaches Association on Monday, and he was also named first team All-Big Ten by the both the league’s coaches and media.
Other Hendricks finalists include Wisconsin’s J.J. Watt, Purdue’s Ryan Kerrigan, Clemson’s Da’Quan Bowers, Texas A&M’s Von Miller, and Pittsburgh’s Jabaal Sheard.
The winner will be announced on Dec. 8.
