The Iowa volleyball team lost two more games this past weekend, falling to both Indiana teams in straight sets.
Nov. 5 was rough for the Hawkeyes (6-17, 1-13) — they lost to Purdue (25-15, 25-16, 25-13). The Boilermakers (16-9, 7-7) swarmed Iowa all night at the net, registering eight blocks. Purdue also recorded 51 kills to overpower Iowa.
Nov. 6 was more of the same when Iowa took on the only team it has defeated in Big Ten play this year. Indiana seemed out for revenge as the Hoosiers (19-7, 7-7) swept the Hawkeyes (25-19, 25-16, 25-17).
That match wasn’t all negatives, though; freshman Chante’ Thompson picked up a career-high six kills, and sophomore Tiffany Nilges continued her progression by leading the team with eight kills on the night.
Iowa’s next match will be at 7 p.m. Thursday against Michigan State in Carver-Hawkeye.
