The Iowa House of Representatives passed a bill on Tuesday that would allow Iowans to have underage drinking tickets expunged from their records.
The bill passed the House unanimously with 97 votes; three representatives were absent. Under the legislation, only those who did not receive a subsequent offense in the two years after the initial alcohol ticket could expunge the charges.
Members of the UI Student Government traveled to Des Moines on Feb. 4 to lobby legislators in favor of the bill.
