Johnson County sheriff’s deputies arrested a Solon man after he allegedly caused more than $1,600 in damages to street signs and mailboxes.
Brandon Anderson, 24, was charged with reckless driving and second-degree criminal mischief.
Some of the objects were alongside the opposing lane of traffic, according to reports.
Police said Anderson was “kind enough to leave his front license plate alongside one of the damaged posts.”
There was major damage to Anderson’s Ford Expedition and a steel mailbox post lay on the ground in his driveway, police said.
Police said he admitted to driving home alone. According to reports, the total damage was $1,602.26.
Second-degree criminal mischief is a Class D felony, generally punishable by up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $7,500 . Reckless driving is a simple misdemeanor and is generally punishable by up to 30 days in jail and a fine of up to $500.
