A North Liberty man died in an accident Sunday after his car went off the road.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, Richard Casey, 20, was driving north on Utah Avenue when the car went into the east ditch. Casey then got back on the road at the intersection of 340th Street and Utah Avenue before stopping in the west ditch.

Reports show Casey’s Buick LeSabre caught fire and was a total loss.

Casey was treated at the UI Hospitals and Clinics.
