An Iowa City man was arrested in late September for allegedly possessing meth.
Police charged Matthew Reuwsaat, 46, 501 Elkhorn Trail, with posession of a controlled substance.
According to reports, officers had a search warrant for Reuwsaat’s home. During the search, a substance suspected to be methamphetamine was found in his room. He later allegedly told officers he smokes meth frequently and has for roughly 30 years, according to police records.
Because it is allegedly his third offense, possession of controlled substance is a Class D felony. It is generally punishable by up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $7,500.
