The trial for a former Hawkeye football player accused of sexual assaulting a female student-athlete will likely be delayed again.
Cedric Everson, along with former teammate Abe Satterfield, are charged with second-degree sexual abuse in connection with the alleged October 2007 assault in a Hillcrest dorm room. Satterfield is also charged with third-degree sexual abuse. Both men have pleaded not guilty.
Everson’s trial had been scheduled for Nov. 2 and his pretrial conference was supposed to be on Thursday. But his attorney, Leon Spies, had requested his client’s trial be after Satterfield’s, which was delayed earlier this month. That trial has not yet been rescheduled.
