The future Cardinal averaged 8.4 points per game during his time as a Hawkeye and played under head coach Ben McCollum for one year.
As a 6-foot-10 force on the hardwood, Folgueras drew attention from Hawkeye fans and sports fans across the country during a 74-57 win over Ohio State on Feb. 25, with a record-high season total of 20 points.
The Florida Gators fell to the Iowa Hawkeyes on March 22, after the forward hit the game-winning three pointer, advancing the team to the Sweet 16.
The win marked the Hawkeyes first Sweet 16 since 1999, a historic achievement for McCollum’s first year as head coach, following his time at Drake University.
Prior to being coached under McCollum, Folguieras had a two-year tenure at Robert Morris University, where he averaged a total of 14 points and 9 rebounds, according to Robert Morris University Athletics.
Folgueiras has one season of eligibility left.
