CLEVELAND — Iowa 184-pound wrestler Angelo Ferrari has medically forfeited from the 2026 NCAA Men’s Wrestling National Championships. Ferrari lost to Minnesota’s Max McEnelly in the semifinals and will claim sixth place.
Ferrari suffered an injury in January, and hadn’t wrestled since then up until the Big Ten Championships, where he also medically forfeited to take eighth place.
The Hawkeye redshirt freshman earned All-American status with his quarterfinals win over Missouri’s Aeoden Sinclair on Friday, before moving to the consolation side with a tiebreaker loss to McEnelly.
Ferrari has not officially forfeited his fifth-place match, but will likely do so once his opponent is set.
