No. 13 Iowa upset No. 6 Michigan, 62-44, at a basketball game in Iowa City at Carver-Hawkeye Arena on Sunday, Feb. 22, 2026.

It was senior night for the Iowa Hawkeyes and Iowa senior forward Hannah Stuelke and sophomore center Ava Heiden were making shot after shot. Stuelke ended with a total of 12 rebounds and 7 assists and Heiden with 23 total points scored.

The women’s head coach Jan Jensen said in a press conference after the game, “You have to own your space…and I think Ava [Heiden] owns her space.” 

The Iowa Women’s Basketball team takes on Illinois this upcoming Thursday, Feb. 26, 2026, in Iowa City at Carver-Hawkeye Arena. The Fighting Illini currently have a record of 18-8 and are currently ranked 10th in the conference standings. Illinois beat Northwestern this past Sunday, Feb. 22, 2026.
