The No. 7 Iowa Hawkeyes narrowly defeat the No. 10 Michigan Wolverines in a 19-7 victory on Senior Recognition Night at Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City, Iowa on Friday, Feb. 13, 2026.

The dual commenced at 141 pounds with Iowa’s Kale Petersen contesting Michigan’s No. 26 Dylan Ragusin. Ragusin defeated Petersen by major decision, 11-2.

149 pounds, No. 19 Ryder Block faced off against Michigan’s No. 15 Lachlan McNeil. At the conclusion of the first period, McNeil led over Block 3-0 with a singular takedown. McNeil, although receiving tough defense from Block, escapes, leading to a 4-0 score at the conclusion of the second period. In the third period, Block received an early takedown but is quickly returned by a McNeil takedown after his escape; McNeil defeating Block by an 8-3 major decision.

No. 14 Jordan Williams returned to the mat to battle Michigan’s No. 13 Cameron Catrabone. William’s received the first takedown in the first period but was quickly countered by Catrabone’s escape concluding the score 3-1. At the commencement of the second period, Catrabone escapes, ending the score 3-2. In a third period scramble, Catrabone defeats Williams by 5-4 decision.

In his final match at Carver-Hawkeye Arena, No. 3 Michael Caliendo brought the crowd to their feet with a 21-6 technical fall against Michigan’s Justin Gates.

Michigan’s No. 11 Beau Mantanona upset Iowa’s No. 3 Patrick Kennedy in a 6-3 decision with an intense and bloody takedown in Sudden Victory.

At 184 pounds, Gabe Arnold added another ranked upset to his record with a 3-2 decision against Michigan’s No. 7 Brock Mantanona. After a scoreless first period, Mantanona escapes from bottom position and rides out the rest of the period 1-0. With an additional point in riding time, at the conclusion of the third period, sudden victory, and tie breaker round one, Arnold and Mantanona are tied 1-1. In the tie breaker round two, Arnold escapes from bottom position and secures the win for the Hawkeyes.

Iowa true freshman Harvey Ludington brought the energy with an upset against No. 19 Hayden Walters in a 6-4 decision at 197 pounds.

At heavyweight, No. 8 Ben Kueter fell to Michigan’s No. 5 Taye Ghadiali by 3-2 decision.

No. 6 Dean Petersen defeated Michigan’s No. 27 Diego Sotelo in a 4-1 decision.

To clutch the dual for the Hawkeyes, No. 8 Drake Ayala secured a 21-5 technical fall against Michigan’s Guage Botero, securing the dual 19-17.

The Hawkeyes are set to dual against Purdue on Sunday, Feb. 15 at Holloway Gymnasium in West Lafayette, Indiana. The Hawkeyes are 11-5 on the 2025-2026 season.
