The Iowa Heartlanders battled against the Kalamazoo Wings in a tough fought matchup at Xtream Arena in Coralville, Iowa on Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2026. The Wing’s defeated the Heartlanders in a 7-3 victory.

The match started with an effortless goal by the Wing’s Jayden Lee, assisted by teammates Josh Bloom and Colin Bilek. The momentum continued for the Wings with two separate goals following, one by Andre Ghantous and one by Colin Bilek. At the conclusion of the first period, the Wing’s led a 3-0 score with two penalties of minor holding and hooking. The Heartlanders, scoreless, received two penalties in the first period for minor high sticking and holding.

At the commencement of the second period, the Heartlanders scored their first of three goals in the match-up with a successful run by Anthony Firriolo, assisted by Mike Foster and Rasmus Kumpulainen. However, the Wing’s quickly countered with three back-to-back goals from Ryan Cox, Evan Dougherty, and Josh Bloom. The Heartlanders fought back for a last-minute goal by Ryan McGuire at the conclusion of the second period, trailing 6-2 with only one penalty from each team.

In the final period of the match-up, the Wing’s finalized their victory with a goal from Robby Drazner. The Heartlanders secured one final goal at the thirteen minute mark with a score from Mike Koster, assisted by Ryan McGuire and William Rousseau.

The Heartlander’s will have a shot of redemption when facing off, once again, against the Kalamazoo Wings at Xtream Arena on Friday, Feb. 13.
