No. 10 Iowa women’s basketball defeated No. 12 Ohio state 91-70 at Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City on Sunday, Jan. 25, 2026.
Iowa continued its domination, extending their win streak to eight consecutive games. The last three games coming against teams ranked in the top 15, with the last loss coming from then No. 1 ranked UConn.
Iowa’s crushing win, putting up 21 more points than Ohio State, came off the back of a sudden injury. Iowa senior starting guard Taylor McCabe went out after just 23 seconds with an injury and never returned. McCabe is set to have an MRI later with no clear sign on the injury according to Iowa head coach Jane Jensen. Freshman guard Addison Deal stepped up in her place, and led the team with 20 points.
“I knew Addie would answer the call…. I knew she was ready,” Jensen said about the freshman star today. Deal earned the most amount of points and game time this season tonight.
“[shoutout] to our practice squad for helping us get ready,” graduate guard Kylie Feuerbach said in the after game presser. The stud senior forward Hannah Stuelke continues to impress, putting up 18 points. The young core of this team is also showing out with players like sophomores Ava Heiden and Chazadi Wright. The center Heiden put up 18 points and the guard Wright put up 14 points.
The Hawkeyes will face off against their first unranked opponent in three weeks by going to California to face USC. The teams face off on Thursday, Jan 29, at 8:00 pm CST.
