The North Liberty Police Department is investigating a shot fired after responding to a Monday call from a mother reporting someone had shot at her son.
According to a Tuesday news release from the police department, officers responded to the call, which took place between 6:40 and 6:50 p.m. Monday.
The call resulted in an investigation that determined an argument took place between the woman’s son and an unknown individual on the 700 block of Savannah Drive during which a shot was fired.
Initial information indicated the shot occurred near Penn Oaks Drive, but police later determined the incident occurred on the 700 block of Savannah Drive.
The victim was treated for a superficial cut, a minor injury affecting only the skin, and refused additional assistance.
According to the release, the department has found no evidence to suggest the public at large is at risk.
