The No. 1 Iowa Hawkeyes faced off against the No. 9 Lehigh Mountain Hawks and the Otterbein Cardinals for Senior Appreciation Night at Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City, Iowa on Sunday, Jan. 18, 2026.
The Hawkeyes faced the No. 9 Lehigh Mountain Hawks in the initial dual of competition.
At 103 pounds, Iowa’s Sterling Dias defeated Lehigh’s Hattie Mack by technical fall. Lehigh secured their first of two wins against the Hawkeyes with a technical fall by No. 5 Audrey Jimenez over Iowa’s Ava Bayless. The Hawkeyes countered with an upset at 117 pounds with freshman Harlee Hiller pinning No. 7 Abigail Cooper at 2:37 and No. 7 Cali Leng technical fall over Lehigh’s Alexa Cilliotta.
After Lehigh’s final victory with No. 3 Aubre Krazer’s upset over Iowa’s No. 1 Karlee Brooks, the Hawkeyes shut out the Mountain Hawks with the remaining matches ending in technical falls and pins. The Hawkeyes defeated the Mountain Hawks 37-7.
In the final dual of competition, the Hawkeyes battled against the Otterbien Cardinals.
Continuing the momentum from their victory against No. 9 Lehigh, the Hawkeyes dominated with a 42-1 finish winning all ten matches of the dual. For matches 103 through 160 pounds, all Iowa wrestlers technical falled their Otterbien opponents. The dual ended with Iowa No.1 180 Kylie Welker receiving a forfeit and Iowa’s Katja Osteen pinning Otterbien’s Marvet Hejazin in 30 seconds.
The Hawkeyes honored five seniors at the conclusion of the dual including Ella Schmit, Ava Bayless, Skye Realin, Katja Osteen and Sam Calkins.
The Hawkeyes are set to travel to Albany, New York for the Journeyman College Duals on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2026 at 12:45 PM CST.
