The Iowa Hawkeyes hosted the first indoor track competition of 2026 season with the Hawkeye Invitational at the Indoor Track & Field Facility in Iowa City, Iowa on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026.
The Invitational hosted the University of Iowa, University of Northern Iowa, University of Western Illinois, Saint Ambrose, Iowa Central Community College, Hawkeye Community College, Des Moines Area Community College and Culver-Stockton.
The invitational brought forth many notable performances from the Iowa Hawkeyes, including Carlee Rochford scoring two personal records in the Women’s 60mH Finals with a 8.48 PB and a 5.74m personal best.
Caila Lyons placed first in the Women’s 600m with a 1:31.12 and Elena Torres placed first in the Women’s 3000m with a 9:49.30.
In the Women’s 4x400m, the Hawkeyes placed first with a 3:50.92.
Lovisa Ulvenstam placed first in the Women’s Long Jump with a 5.85m. Wisdom Williams placed first in the Women’s Shot Put with a 15.74m.
On the men’s side, Jordan Gross placed first in the 60m prelims and 60m finals with a personal best of 6.71.
Sal Capaldo placed first in the 60m Hurdle prelims and finals with a personal best of 8:18 and 8:19.
Vaughn Devaughn III placed first in the Men’s 300m with a 34.16 personal record. Miles Wilson in the Men’s 3000m with a 8:19.67.
In the Men’s 4x400m, Iowa placed first with a 3:17.66.
Ryan Johnson of the Iowa Hawkeyes set the new D1 Men’s Weight Throw record with a 24.85m personal best.
The Hawkeyes are set to compete in the Arkansas Invitational in Fayetteville, Arkansas on Friday, Jan. 16, 2026. The starting time is currently to be determined.
