NEW YORK — The stars are out Saturday afternoon, sitting courtside at Barclays Center in Brooklyn for the Champions Classic. From legends on the hardwood to icons on the pitch, celebrities are in the Big Apple to see the two games between four ranked teams. During the second half of the early matchup between No. 17 Tennessee and No. 16 Louisville, the Jumbotron featured WNBA legend and Basketball Hall of Famer Lisa Leslie, donning an LED light therapy mask from Shark Beauty, which sponsors the event.

Leslie, a two-time WNBA Champion, eight-time All-Star, and four-time Olympic gold medalist, became the first WNBA player to dunk in a game back in 2002. A star back at USC, Leslie dominated on the professional stage, winning three MVPs, two Finals MVPs, and a pair of Defensive Player of the Year awards, all with the Los Angeles Sparks. 

Former US men’s national team player Tim Howard is also in attendance. Howard, dubbed the “Secretary of Defense” for his goalkeeping in the 2010 and 2014 World Cups. He holds the record for most saves in a World Cup game with 16 in the 2014 knockout round against Belgium and was named Concacaf Goalkeeper of the Year from 2013-2015. 

Other sightings included Isabelle Harrison of the New York Liberty and actress Molly Brown from the TV show, “Dexter: Original Sin.” Brown donned a black Hannah Stuelke jersey.
