The Iowa City Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in the ongoing investigation of an Oct. 19 assault that occurred in the 10 block of Gilbert Street.
The department originally sent a press release on Oct. 28 asking for help in identifying two individuals who may have witnessed the assault. The department put out an additional release on Thursday afternoon. The victim of the attack sustained significant injuries, the release states.
Any individuals with information on the incident are being asked to contact ICPD Detective Isaac Hoffman, the Iowa City Area Crime Stoppers, or the Iowa City Police Department. The department also asks those with security cameras in the area to check their footage and contact the police department with any information relevant to the assault investigation.
The crime stoppers organization is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest in this case.
