On Sunday evening, at Xtream Arena, the Iowa Hawkeyes lost to the Minnesota Gophers 3-2 in a close five-set match.
The high-jumping Iowa outside hitter Chard’e Vanzandt tied her season high record of 22 kills. It was almost enough to come back in the 5th set which ended in 13-15. The Hawkeyes had no response, however, for the Gophers offense, who had four players with double-digit kills.
Next, the Hawkeyes face Nebraska in Lincoln at the Bob Devaney Sports Center on Nov. 20, at 7:00 p.m. CST.
