No. 17 USC Trojans defeated the Iowa Hawkeyes, 26-21, during a football game at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in Los Angeles, Calif., on Saturday. After a last-minute loss against Oregon, the Hawkeyes have fallen to a ranked team for the second game in a row.
Iowa opened the game strong, leading at the half 14-10. In the second quarter, an impressive reverse pass trick play by former high school quarterback Reece Vander Zee resulted in a 5-yard touchdown pass for the now wide receiver. This makes Gronowski the seventh Big Ten player since 2000 with a passing, rushing, and receiving touchdown in the same game.
Despite coming out of the gate strong, Iowa remained scoreless for the second half. Trojan wide receiver Makai Lemon caught 10 passes for 153 yards and a touchdown, leading the Trojan turnaround.
Iowa will play Michigan State on Saturday, Nov. 22, at Kinnick Stadium in the last home game of the 2025 season.
