Iowa Women’s Soccer shut out the Western Michigan Broncos in a 2-0 victory at the Iowa Soccer Complex on Sunday.
The Hawkeyes, returning from their previous season’s breakthrough of entering the Sweet 16 for the first time in the history of the program, are hoping to continue breaking expectations and growing their team.
The Hawkeyes dominating performance started with a goal by Josie Jones in the first half. Jones, a freshman, secured her first college goal as a Hawkeye in this matchup. In the second half, Shae Doherty, a senior, secured the second and final goal of the match. The Hawkeyes are ranked No. 9 with a 3-1 standing record.
Next, Iowa will be traveling to Chicago, Illinois, this coming week to compete against the Loyola Ramblers on Thursday, August 28.
