Iowa State defeated No. 21 Iowa, 20-19, at Kinnick Stadium in Iowa City on Saturday.
Iowa State freshman kicker Kyle Konrardy sealed the game-winning 54-yard field goal with six seconds left.
In the last 10 season this was the Cyclones third win against the Hawkeyes with all three of them being on the road at Kinnick Stadium.
Despite the close finish, at the end of the half, Iowa led 13-0.
Both teams had similar times of possession, with Iowa State leading 30:10 and Iowa 29:50.
Iowa ended the game with 99 passing yards and 204 rushing, while Iowa State ended with 272 passing yards and 89 rushing.
Iowa running back Kaleb Johnson averaged 7.5 yards per carry, ending the game with 187 yards in total, while Iowa State Abu Sama III averaged 3.4 and ended with 58.
Iowa State quarterback Rocco Becht went 23/36 completions, while Iowa Cade McNamara went 13/29.
Iowa punted 363 yards, while Iowa State punted 384, averaging 40.3 and 42.7, respectively.
Iowa linebacker Jay Higgins forced one interception on the Cyclones. While on the other side Iowa State defensive back Darien Porter forced two interceptions on the Hawkeyes.
Iowa will take on the Troy Trojans next Saturday, Sept. 14, at 3:00 p.m. in Iowa City.
