Iowa City man accused of damaging car

An Iowa City man has been accused of causing damage to a car, including placing stickers throughout the interior and causing blunt force damage. 

Joshua Robertson, 37, 422 Brown Street, was charged with second-degree criminal mischief. The report was filed on March 1. 

According to the arrest affidavit, Robertson was caught on video damaging the victim’s car, a 2013 Lexus. The damages included places numerous stickers throughout the body of the car, pulling the passenger’s side mirror off, and damaging the passenger’s door with blunt force. 

Robertson was located three days later and admitted to the act in retaliation for having a private parking sticker placed on his window, the affidavit said. 

According to the itemized repair statement provided by the victim, $1,746.22 was caused in damages. 

Second-degree criminal mischief is a Class-D felony.
