Authorities have accused a Blairstown man of attempting to steal a car.

Jeffrey Parson, 32, was charged March 10 with second-degree theft and second-degree criminal mischief.

According to an arrest affidavit, police were called to a Coralville convenience store in response to a report of a stolen vehicle. Officers were shown security video that showed someone breaking into and driving a vehicle away. Three hours later, officers responded to a similar call and allegedly came into contact with Parson allegedly attempting to break into another vehicle.

Second-degree theft and second-degree criminal mischief are Class-D felonies.
