Man accused of beating his former partner

Eric Cole, 27, address unknown, was charged Feb. 10 with violation of a no contact protective order, first-degree burglary, domestic abuse impeding the flow of air/blood, five counts of domestic abuse/assault causing injury, driving while barred, possession of drug paraphernalia, second-degree criminal mischief, false imprisonment, first-degree harassment, two counts of willing injury, obstructing emergency communication, and first-harassment. 

According to the arrest affidavit, Cole entered the female victim’s home without her permission and threatened to kill her. The victim was strangled, punched, scratched, and suffered a broken nail. Cole also threw her down a flight of stairs. 

After the assault, Cole fled the scene and then crashed the vehicle. 

Domestic abuse impeding the flow of air and blood and second-degree criminal mischief are Class-D felonies. First-degree burglary is a Class-B felony. Willful injury is a Class-C felony.
