Authorities have accused a Marion man of stalking and harassing a person and violating a court order.

Brandon Thomas, 38, was charged Sept. 8 with stalking, violating a no-contact protective order, and third-degree harassment.

According to the arrest affidavit, Thomas sent numerous text messages to the person. He also made several attempts to call the person’s phone.

The person was afraid of any contact because of past violence and contacted authorities, the affidavit said. Thomas reportedly admitted that he had sent the messages.

Stalking is a D-Class felony.
