Iowa wrestling announces 2018-19 schedule

Iowa’s new schedule includes seven home events at Carver-Hawkeye.

The schedule for the Tom Brands-led Hawkeye wrestling team is set for the upcoming season.

Iowa will open its slate on Nov. 9 in Kent, Ohio, against Cal State-Bakersfield and Kent State.

The Hawkeyes will take to Carver on Nov. 16 for its home-opener, this season against Princeton. Iowa will see its first Big Ten foe the next weekend at Purdue on Nov. 24.

The Cy-Hawk matchup against Iowa State will be in Carver on Dec. 1. A week later, the Hawkeyes will face Lehigh before heading into winter break.

After the Midlands Championships on Dec. 29-30, Iowa will take on a heavy slate of Big Ten action, starting on Jan. 13 against Minnesota. Over the following two months, Iowa will see Rutgers, Illinois, Northwestern, Nebraska, Maryland, Indiana, and Wisconsin.

The Hawkeyes will close the regular season in Stillwater, Oklahoma, against Oklahoma State.

March 9-10 – Big Ten Championships (Minneapolis)

March 21-23 – NCAA Championships (Pittsburgh)
