The Iowa City police are seeking information on an assault on a juvenile.
 According to a press release from the city of Iowa City, officers received a report of an assault near the intersection of Lakeside and Miami Drives on Jan. 26.
The 12-year-old was walking alone, the release said, and a teenage boy grabbed him from behind, pushing the juvenile to the ground and hitting him numerous times. The assailant tried reaching into the juvenile’s pockets, the release said, but he ran away from the scene.
 The juvenile has minor injuries, the release said, and nothing was stolen from him.
 The suspect was described as a thin,15-year-old, African American boy aroundt 5-6, the release said. He was wearing a green and tan hooded sweatshirt and black jeans.
 Iowa City Area CrimeStoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information involving the crime.
