The University of Iowa will help sponsor an Indy car in the Indianapolis 500.
The UI Stephen A. Wynn Institute for Vision Research will sponsor the car to raise awareness for its cause.
It will team up with Lazier Partners Racing.
Bob Lazier’s granddaughter was born with numerous eye disorders that caused her to lose vision in her right eye.
The Wynn Institute works “toward promising treatments and, ultimately, a cure for retinitis pigmentosa.”
Buddy Lazier, Bob’s son and the 1996 winner of the race, will drive the No. 98 car in the May 25 race.
