Iowa freshman swimmer Nick Zito was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday.

Zito swam four events in his first college dual in Ann Arbor at the Michigan Water Carnival last weekend and placed second twice, third, and seventh.

The Hawkeyes will return to action on Oct. 11 for their annual intrasquad meet.
