An Iowa City restaurant that replaced Chef’s Table at 223 E. Washington St. will close temporarily early this week because of its participation in a secret new reality-television show.

Xie was closed Sunday and will be closed today; it will reopen at 5 p.m. Tuesday. The first 100 patrons at the restaurant will receive a free meal courtesy of the production team and a secret celebrity chef.

In a post on its Facebook page, the restaurant said it could not disclose the network the show would be on but that it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the business.
