Iowa City police welcome new officer

The Iowa City police recently welcomed a new officer to the force.

Dustin Carolan was officially welcomed to the Police Department on Monday during a swearing-in ceremony at City Hall.

Carolan, 30, hails from Decorah, Iowa, and attended Luther College. He completed the Law Enforcement Skills program at Alexandria Technical & Community in Alexandria, Minn.

He previously served with the Decorah police for the past two and a half years.

Carolan is assigned Iowa City police badge No. 30. He will begin an extensive field training program with the department on July 20.
