The Iowa City City Council approved a multifamily housing development from a company that had previously applied for the College/Gilbert Street development proposal.
The company, 4 Zero 4 LLC, will replace the housing destroyed by the 2008 flood or acquired in flood buyouts. The development will provide up to 44 units of affordable/workforce rental housing located at 700 S. Dubuque St.
State Community Development Block Grant funding is available for the project.
4 Zero 4 will now have to submit a proposal to the Iowa Economic Development Authority by March 1 in order for the project to be considered; a decision will be announced May 1.
