The Iowa baseball team’s first pitch of the fall will be at 1 p.m. Sept. 30, when the Hawkeyes will host Black Hawk College.
Sophomore Sasha Kuebel will gets the start. The native of St. Louis received numerous freshman awards after a 6-0 record and a 2.67 ERA last spring.
Iowa has picked up 10 new players, including MLB draft choice Blake Hickman (selected by the Chicago Cubs in the 20th round). Trevor Kenyon is also on the roster this season after spending two years at Black Hawk College. He is the younger brother of former Iowa baseball player Zach Kenyon.
The Hawkeyes will play four games this fall, including two-straight contests at Creighton on Oct. 6-7. Iowa’s last fall date is at home against Iowa Central Community College on Oct. 12.
