The trial for a former Hawkeye football player accused of raping a female student-athlete was delayed again.
Abe Satterfield’s pretrial conference had been scheduled for today. He is charged with second- and third-degree sexual abuse.
No new date has been set.
According to police reports, Satterfield and another former Hawkeye football player, Cedric Everson, sexually assaulted the woman in an empty Hillcrest room Oct. 14, 2007.
The decision could also affect Everson’s trial, which is scheduled for Nov. 2. His attorney, Leon Spies, requested his client’s trial be held after Satterfield’s.
