Iowa City transient man accused of unauthorized possession of weapons

A man has been accused of unauthorized possession of weapons and violating a no contact/protective order.

Bryce Laurence Peterson, 51, was charged on Aug. 24 with unauthorized possession of offensive weapons and violation of a no contact/protective order.

According to the affidavit, Peterson called the protected party around 11 p.m. under a valid no contact order and said he spoke to the party for several minutes. Peterson said to officials that he understood the no contact order was valid at the time of his call.

Unauthorized possession of offensive weapons is a Class-D felony.
