Iowa wide receiver Brandon Smith and middle linebacker Kristian Welch were not listed on the Hawkeyes’ two-deep depth chart that was released Monday.

Smith went down in Iowa’s 26-20 win over Purdue on Oct. 19 after posting a career day. Smith hauled in nine passes for 106 yards against the Boilermakers, as Iowa found its way back into the end zone twice.

Welch didn’t play against Purdue. Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz said he got nicked up against Penn State the previous week and listed him as a captain, but it was announced shortly before kickoff that he would be inactive.

Redshirt freshman wide receiver Tyrone Tracy is listed as Smith’s replacement. Ihmir Smith-Marsette retains his role as the other starter, and Nico Ragaini will also continue to contribute.

Redshirt freshman Calvin Lockett sits behind Tracy on the new depth chart.

On the defensive side of the ball, redshirt freshman linebacker Dillon Doyle — who started for Iowa against Purdue — is once again listed as the starter in Welch’s place. Freshman Jack Campbell, who received playing time against the Boilermakers, will likely play again against Northwestern Saturday.

At the left cornerback spot, Riley Moss is now listed as a co-starter with incumbent Matt Hankins.
