An Iowa City man has been accused of third-degree burglary.

Troy Frazier, 32, was charged Oct. 9 with third-degree burglary, third-degree theft, and possession of a controlled substance.

According to the arrest affidavit, Frazier entered the Hilton Garden Inn at 328 S. Clinton St. early Wednesday morning, ducking to hide from employees behind the desk in the lobby.

Frazier proceeded to steal a can of Coca Cola. Noticing there was no one behind the front desk, Frazier grabbed two room keys to room 417, the affidavit said.

Later Wednesday morning, hotel employees noticed there was someone in room 417. Employees confronted Frazier and demanded payment of $169.23. Frazier then walked out of the hotel, the affidavit said.

After Frazier was arrested by law enforcement, a bag of methamphetamine was found in Frazier’s wallet, the affidavit said.

Third-degree burglary is a Class D felony.
