Local man faces numerous drug charges

Authorities have issued a warrant an Iowa City man accused of having more than 900 grams of raw marijuana in his residence.

Matthew Koelling, 22, has been charged with two counts of failure to affix drug stamp, possession of a controlled substance, and three counts of controlled-substance violation.

According to the arrest affidavit, an Iowa narcotics warrant was executed at Koelling’s address. According to the documents, officers found cocaine, approximately 968 grams of raw marijuana, MDMA, 179 Xanax pills, and a “large amount of edibles.” Koelling admitted to distributing marijuana and Xanax.

Controlled-substance violation is a Class-D felony, as is failure to affix drug stamp.
