Kalona man charged with breaking into vehicle while drunk

Authorities have accused a Kalona man of breaking a car’s window while intoxicated.

Gabriel Miecznikowski was charged April 27 with public intoxication, third-degree motor-vehicle burglary, second-offense criminal mischief, and first-degree trespassing.

According to the arrest affidavit, Miecznikowski was yelling loudly in public while causing damage to bicycles in a parking garage. He then broke a window in a vehicle, causing $400 worth of damage. He also allegedly entered a secure construction site.

Second-degree criminal mischief is a Class-D felony.
