Tiffin man accused of breaking into several Iowa City homes

Authorities have accused a Tiffin man of burglarizing several residences.

Anthony Akers, 20, was charged April 14 with possessing burglar’s tools, second-degree burglary, and first-offense possession of marijuana.

According to the arrest affidavit, Akers was observed breaking into several Iowa City homes with two juvenile suspects. One of the suspects was carrying a pistol.

The three were taken into custody at gunpoint; 28 grams of marijuana were reportedly found in Aker’s possession.

Second-degree burglary is a Class-C felony.
