Authorities have accused an Iowa City man of strangling a romantic partner.

Rodney Dunlap, 45, 1406 Keokuk St., was charged March 26 with domestic abuse/assault and domestic abuse/assault impeding the flow of air and blood.

According to the arrest affidavit, Dunlap allegedly strangled and hit the person during an argument, leaving visible marks.

Domestic abuse/assault impeding the flow of air and blood is a Class-D felony.
